Ukrainians could lose communication services for up to 12 hours as a result of Russian strikes on data centers, according to Frolenkov, a representative of Ukraine’s internet traffic exchange point. The warning comes after three weeks of sustained attacks targeting the country’s digital infrastructure.
Internet service providers are working to minimize the fallout, but Frolenkov acknowledged that disruptions remain possible. He urged residents to prepare by maintaining two active SIM cards and subscriptions with two different home internet providers to ensure redundancy.
The campaign against data centers and communication hubs has intensified, with the capital now a primary focus. “Right now they have seriously taken on Kyiv, next will be western Ukraine,” Frolenkov said, indicating the geographic progression of the assault.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation, but the prolonged nature of the attacks underscores the vulnerability of critical internet infrastructure in wartime.
