Kyiv's Southern Bridge to See Partial Lane Closure for Pavement Repairs

Kyiv's Southern Bridge will operate under partial traffic restrictions from 22 to 25 September as repair crews replace the asphalt concrete pavement on the viaduct that carries vehicles toward Korchevate in the direction from the left bank to the right bank of the Dnipro River. The work begins at 14:00 on 22 September and concludes at 07:00 on 25 September, affecting only the second lane; during this period the far left lane will handle all directional flow.

The Southern Bridge is a primary artery linking the city's left and right banks and carries heavy commuter and freight volumes daily. Similar short‑term lane closures have been implemented on other major crossings, such as the Paton Bridge earlier this month, reflecting a routine maintenance schedule aimed at preserving structural integrity.

City transport officials urge drivers to expect delays, observe temporary signage and reduced speed limits, and consider alternative routes where possible. The far left lane will remain open throughout the repair window, and normal traffic patterns will resume once the pavement work is complete.
