Kyiv's injury toll from an overnight attack rose to 11 on Tuesday, including one child, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. Nine victims have been hospitalized, according to emergency medical services.
In the Dniprovskyi district, debris struck multiple sites, damaging an office building, a residential apartment block, warehouse facilities and the area near a gas station. Separately, a non-residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district sustained a direct hit. Klitschko did not specify the weapon used, but Ukrainian air defenses routinely engage incoming Russian missiles or drones over the capital, with falling debris causing ground damage.
Emergency crews are working at all impact sites to assess structural damage and assist residents. The latest strikes follow a pattern of intensified Russian bombardments on the capital. On September 8, a barrage injured 23 people and killed five, while a separate assault the same day left two dead and 10 wounded across multiple districts. Those attacks occurred during a lower-tier "yellow" air-raid alert that did not require sheltering.
The overnight damage comes amid continued Russian long-range strikes targeting Ukrainian energy and military infrastructure nationwide.
