Kyiv and Region Endure Nearly 40 Hours of Enemy Drone Attacks

Aug 28, 2026 09:25

Air-raid alerts have sounded in the Ukrainian capital 21 times since yesterday as drone strikes damage warehouses, homes and vehicles across Kyiv and the surrounding oblast.

Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast have been under near-continuous enemy drone assault for almost 40 hours, according to local reports. Since yesterday, air-raid alerts have been declared in the capital 21 times as successive waves of unmanned aerial vehicles targeted civilian and logistics sites across the region.

The strikes have damaged at least 18 warehouse buildings, along with dozens of private houses, apartment blocks and cars, officials said. Warehouse and transport facilities bore a significant share of the destruction, with residential neighborhoods also hit, pointing to a sustained effort to disrupt both daily life and supply networks in and around the Ukrainian capital.

Russian forces have continued the barrage across Kyiv and the surrounding oblast, with no sign of a pause. Emergency crews are assessing damage, clearing debris and assisting residents, while repeated warnings keep much of the population in shelters.

Authorities have not released casualty figures from the latest strikes, and damage assessments were continuing.
