Fire at Starlink Ground Station in Poland Disrupts Ukraine Communications, Officials Suspect Sabotage

A fire at a Starlink ground station in central Poland damaged critical electrical equipment and a backup generator, temporarily disrupting satellite internet connectivity that supports Ukrainian military operations. The facility is part of SpaceX's Starlink constellation, which has become vital for Ukrainian command, control, and communications since Russia's full-scale invasion.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski stated the incident may have been an act of sabotage intended to disable the station and interrupt Starlink services, particularly those used by the Ukrainian armed forces. He did not specify who might be responsible. Polish authorities are investigating the cause, and service has since been restored.

The episode underscores the vulnerability of critical space-based communication infrastructure underpinning Ukraine's defense.
