Born on June 2, 1961, in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, Soroka spent most of her life there. After graduating from school, she trained as an accountant and later engaged in entrepreneurship. She eventually moved to Kyiv to be closer to her daughter, working as a saleswoman in a small neighborhood shop.
Soroka was known for her love of reading, continuous self-improvement, and sharing knowledge with loved ones. She enjoyed spending time with friends and easily formed new connections. Her daughter Liudmyla wrote: "Mom was for me an example of indomitable spirit, wisdom and kindness. Very smiling, positive, she knew how to support in grief, help, find the right word and make a smile appear even on the saddest day. Family was everything to her."
The fatal strike occurred on August 20, 2026, as part of a large-scale Russian missile barrage targeting Kyiv. Soroka's apartment in the Solomianskyi district took a direct hit, and the explosion caused fatal trauma.
