Kyiv has detailed bridge traffic rules for air-raid alerts, keeping most crossings open while imposing brief closures on the Southern and Podilsko-Voskresenskyi bridges.
Kyiv has clarified how its bridges will operate during air-raid alerts, with most major crossings remaining open and two facing short, safety-related closures around the start and end of each warning.
The Southern Bridge (Pivdennyi Mist) will remain open to traffic while an alert is in effect, but it will be closed for 30 minutes immediately after a siren is announced and for another 30 minutes after the all-clear sounds. During the alert itself, entrance ramps from Saperno-Slobidska Street and Mykhaila Boychuka Street will be shut to vehicles.
The Darnytskyi, Paton, Metro, and Northern bridges will continue to run normally, with no additional restrictions for drivers. The Podilsko-Voskresenskyi Bridge will also close for 30 minutes after an alert begins and again for 30 minutes after it ends; at all other times it will remain open, with reversible traffic in effect.
Drivers should expect brief delays on affected crossings and plan alternate routes whenever air-raid sirens are activated.
