Britain will supply Ukraine with a £100 million military aid package including Patriot interceptors, anti-aircraft missiles, heavy artillery shells, and drones to bolster winter air defenses.

The United Kingdom will provide Ukraine with a £100 million military assistance package that includes Patriot interceptor missiles, The Guardian reports. London said the aid is intended to reinforce Ukraine’s air defenses during the winter months.

The package will also deliver anti-aircraft missiles, large-caliber artillery shells, and unmanned aerial vehicles to Kyiv under British commitments to Ukraine’s priority-needs list, a set of requirements previously agreed with NATO allies. Patriot interceptors are designed to destroy aircraft, cruise missiles, and tactical ballistic missiles, strengthening Ukraine’s shield against combined aerial and ballistic attacks.

On Monday, Prime Minister Andy Burnham discussed the war in Ukraine with Donald Trump, and both agreed on the need to keep working toward a ceasefire that would prevent further casualties, the report said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to meet Trump in late September. The two leaders are likely to discuss supplying anti-ballistic missiles for U.S.-built Patriot air-defense systems, among other topics.
