Deputy head of Kyiv City Military Administration Petro Panteleev outlined current bridge operations, with most crossings limited during air raid alerts while metro service on the Southern Bridge prepares to resume.
Kyiv's bridge traffic regime was updated by Petro Panteleev, deputy head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, during a briefing on current security measures. The restrictions apply during air raid alerts and reflect the city's ongoing effort to balance mobility with protection.
The Southern Bridge remains fully closed to all vehicle traffic. On the Metro Bridge, movement is limited to a single lane from the left bank to the right bank. The Paton Bridge, Northern Bridge, and Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge each prohibit travel from the right bank to the left bank during alerts. The Darnytskyi Bridge is the only crossing operating without limitations during air raid warnings.
These measures are temporary and subject to change based on the security situation. Notably, the Southern Bridge closure for vehicles coincides with the planned resumption of normal Green Line metro service across the bridge starting September 10, following test runs conducted during a yellow alert level. Authorities have contingency plans to split metro service into two segments — Syrets to Vydubychi on the right bank and Osokorky to Chervony Khutir on the left bank — if a red alert is declared. Residents are advised to monitor official channels for real-time updates.
