Unitree described the showing as the first fully autonomous combat performance by a humanoid robot governed by a world model — a departure from earlier remotely controlled or pre-scripted displays.
World models are machine-learning systems that predict outcomes from sensory input and use those forecasts to plan actions. By forecasting the consequences of possible moves, the model lets the robot choose sequences of action rather than execute a stored routine. The company presented the demonstration as evidence that humanoid machines can now plan combat-style movements on their own.
