Buses Barred from Shehyni‑Medyka Crossing Starting 20 September

From 20 September buses will no longer be allowed to enter Poland through the Shehyni‑Medyka border crossing, the Polish Border Guard announced on Tuesday.

The restriction is expected to remain in force until November 2027 while the Polish side carries out a large‑scale reconstruction of the bus terminal at the crossing.

During the works, all bus traffic will be diverted to three alternative checkpoints: Krakovets‑Korchova, Smilnytsia‑Krosno and Nyzhankovychi‑Malhowice.

Passenger cars and other vehicle categories will continue to use Shehyni‑Medyka without interruption, the agency said.

The closure affects one of the busiest passenger‑bus routes between Ukraine and Poland and is likely to increase travel times for commuters and tourists until the upgraded facility reopens.
