Russian Drones Tighten Grip on Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka as Front Line Shifts Inward

Russian FPV drones and Lancet loitering munitions have established effective control over the edges of three key Donbas cities, threatening vehicle movement while Ukrainian logistics persist under heavy bombardment.

Russian first-person-view drones and Lancet loitering munitions have established effective control over the urban fringes of Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka, creating severe risks for any wheeled movement inside the cities themselves. The front line now runs just beyond their centers, shifting the most acute danger from the approaches to the streets.

This escalation follows weeks of Russian probing on the approaches to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, including attempts to infiltrate settlements such as Mykolaivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka, as well as small-group incursions near Druzhkivka that Ukrainian forces have repeatedly repelled.

Despite the drone dominance, Ukrainian military convoys continue to traverse the contested zone largely unscathed, keeping supply arteries open. Meanwhile, Russian aviation and artillery pound the remaining populated areas with KAB guided bombs and heavy munitions, gradually turning neighborhoods into charred ruins.

Ukrainian units hold their positions, preventing the severing of critical logistics routes, in a grinding attritional phase where control of transportation corridors determines the sustainability of both military operations and civilian life.
