A new petition has appeared on the official website of the Office of the President of Ukraine calling on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to hold an open press conference with journalists from independent media outlets.
The electronic appeal was posted on the presidential petitions platform. Its author had previously served as one of the coordinators of protests against the dismissal of Fedorov from the Ministry of Defense, according to the report.
Journalist Mokryk called the petition’s appearance an “incredible” development, noting that at least five similar appeals had previously been blocked before reaching the site. The latest submission brings to at least six the number of such requests lodged on the platform.
The petition reflects broader demands from independent journalists and civic activists for greater media access to the president. Supporters say an open event would allow reporters outside state-controlled or pro-government outlets to question Zelenskyy directly and improve public accountability.
If the petition collects enough signatures, it will require an official response from the presidential office.
