Kyiv Restricts Public Transport on Bridges After Overnight Attacks

Published Updated

The Kyiv City Military Administration announced temporary closures of three major bridges and rerouted bus and trolleybus lines following overnight enemy strikes.

Kyiv's city military administration said early today that overnight enemy attacks forced the temporary closure of three key river crossings, disrupting public transport across the capital. The Southern Bridge, Paton Bridge, and the Metro Bridge were all shut in at least one direction, prompting immediate rerouting of multiple bus and trolleybus lines.

The Southern Bridge is closed in both directions. Bus routes 22 and 91 have been diverted to the Darnytskyi Bridge. The Paton Bridge is also fully closed, with bus routes 51, 55, 115, and 118-D redirected via the same Darnytskyi crossing. Trolleybus service has been reorganized: route 43 now runs between the Cybernetic Center and Lybidska Square, while route 50 operates between Myoslavska Street and Darnytska Square.

On the Metro Bridge, traffic toward the right bank is blocked. Bus route 1-M has been rerouted through the Podilskyi Bridge. Authorities did not specify the nature of the attacks or report casualties. The restrictions remain in effect until further notice.

The closures continue a pattern of Russian strikes targeting Kyiv's transport infrastructure, with recent attacks damaging roads and bridges across multiple districts. The military administration has repeatedly adjusted transit routes in response to such strikes since the full-scale invasion began.
