Child Dies in Hospital, Raising Kyiv Region Death Toll to Four After Enemy Attack

A child died in a Kyiv region hospital from wounds sustained during a Russian attack on Vyshhorod district, raising the death toll from the recent series of strikes to four — three children and one woman, regional officials confirmed. The latest fatalities underscore the continuing toll of sustained aerial assaults on districts surrounding the capital.

The attack follows a pattern of repeated drone and missile strikes on the region. In early September, a large-scale operation across six districts killed two people and wounded seven, while a near-continuous 24-hour barrage on September 19 damaged nine civilian sites in four districts. The persistent campaign has repeatedly targeted residential areas, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure.

The most recent strikes damaged a total of 31 objects across five districts. Fastiv district bore the brunt with 24 objects hit, including residential houses, production and household premises, the grounds of an agricultural enterprise, and 17 vehicles. Vyshhorod district recorded four damaged objects: two private homes, an enterprise premise, and an educational institution. Obukhiv district reported one damaged private house, Brovary district one private house and a power transmission line, and Bucha district one warehouse facility.
