Ukrainian forces have thwarted Russian attempts to establish a foothold east of the village of Veliky Prikil in Sumy region, while maintaining defensive pressure along the border sector near Myropillia and Zapsillia, according to a frontline report published on August 14.
Russian units have sought to consolidate positions to the east of Veliky Prikil but have so far failed to secure a permanent lodgment in the area. In Myropillia, monitoring indicates only a limited enemy presence, although Ukrainian troops positioned near the state border have remained in partial isolation since early July due to the tactical situation.
Over the preceding two weeks, Ukrainian units operating on the Sumy and Krasnopillia axes have executed effective clearing operations, successfully pushing Russian forces out of forested terrain south of the settlement of Zapsillia. The advances have improved the tactical picture along this segment of the northern border.
