Ukrainian Forces Disabled Over 77% of Ryazan Oil Refinery Capacity, Fire Point Says

Ukrainian forces disabled more than 77 percent of the capacity of the Ryazan oil refinery during a nighttime drone attack, according to monitoring group Fire Point. The strike focused on the facility's largest primary oil-processing units.

FP-1 drones scored confirmed hits on rectification columns of the ELOU-AVT-6 unit, the refinery's largest processing train, which can handle 8.5 million tons of crude oil per year. Equipment at the AVT-3 unit, rated at 3.1 million tons per year, was also struck. The two installations have a combined annual throughput of 11.6 million tons and form the core of the plant's crude-distillation capability.

The Ryazan refinery, located east of Moscow, is one of Russia's major oil-processing hubs. Because rectification columns are essential for separating crude into usable fuel fractions, damage to both units could halt or severely curtail refinery output. The raid is the latest in a series of Ukrainian long-range drone strikes targeting strategic Russian energy infrastructure.
