Ukraine Still Undecided on National Pantheon, Says Taras Ishchyk

Ukraine has not yet decided what its National Pantheon should be, according to Taras Ishchyk, a serviceman and the creator of the graphic style used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He shared his views during a podcast on the Mykola Kniazhyskyi YouTube channel.

Ishchyk argues that before establishing a Pantheon, the state must resolve a central question: which historical narrative should it present, and what kind of Ukraine does the nation want to build. Without that clarity, the project risks lacking a coherent meaning for future generations.

He does not believe the Pantheon must be a cemetery. Instead, it could be a symbolic space that shows the continuity of Ukrainian statehood. Independence Maidan in Kyiv is one of the most appropriate places for such a memorial, he suggests.
