Ukraine Secures $500 Million Fuel Deal and LNG Shipments from Poland's Orlen

Ukraine has secured a significant energy supply agreement with Polish oil and gas company Orlen, covering petroleum products valued at up to $500 million and three shipments of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The deals were finalized by state-owned Naftogaz and Orlen on the sidelines of the Carpathian Eight regional summit.

The LNG deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, marking a concrete step in diversifying Ukraine's gas supply sources amid ongoing market volatility. The petroleum product shipments are expected to bolster domestic fuel availability and mitigate price pressures.

Ukrainian officials said the fuel supplies aim to stabilize the national market against the backdrop of a global oil crisis that has disrupted traditional supply chains and inflated costs. The Carpathian Eight format, which groups Central and Eastern European states, provided the diplomatic framework for the commercial accords.

Naftogaz emphasized that the agreements strengthen energy security cooperation between Kyiv and Warsaw, while Orlen highlighted its commitment to supporting Ukraine's energy resilience. Financial terms beyond the $500 million ceiling for petroleum products were not disclosed.
