Two Indian nationals ran toward the runway before a Delhi-bound flight at Warsaw Chopin Airport, while the same day saw separate disturbances on a Burgas flight and a missed Rome flight.
Two Indian nationals ran onto the active runway area at Warsaw Chopin Airport shortly before a flight to Delhi was due to depart, airport officials reported.
The incident occurred during boarding, when passengers were being loaded onto an apron bus. One man suddenly broke away and ran toward the runway, and a second followed behind, apparently attempting to restrain him. The motive for the act remains unclear. Both men were immediately removed from the Delhi-bound flight, taken to a service room, and fined by airport authorities.
The same day brought two other unrelated incidents. A 36-year-old Polish man was taken off a plane bound for Burgas after causing a disturbance on board. A sobriety test recorded alcohol at nearly 2 per mille, and he was sent to a sobering-up station.
Also, a 39-year-old Ukrainian woman missed her Rome flight and tried to force her way through the jet bridge after check-in had closed. She later apologized and was issued an official warning.
