One Signatory Represents 246 Companies, Ukrainian Registry Data Shows

Ukraine's Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations shows 603,000 registered signatories currently represent 551,000 companies, meaning nearly four in ten businesses have authorized signing officers beyond their directors, according to data analyzed by OpenDatabot.

Signatories hold legal authority to execute contracts, submit documents, and perform other critical actions on behalf of their companies, though their powers and limitations are strictly defined within the register's framework. The arrangement allows businesses to delegate operational authority while maintaining legal accountability.

The data also reveals extreme concentration among signing officers. One individual serves as authorized signatory for 246 separate companies, setting a record for multiple representation. Such concentration raises questions about corporate governance and oversight capacity.

OpenDatabot, a Ukrainian business intelligence platform, published the analytics alongside a searchable tool allowing anyone to verify signing authorities for specific companies. The findings highlight both the prevalence of delegated signing authority and the potential risks of over-concentration in Ukraine's corporate landscape.
