A Telegram channel that covers Donbas says there is currently no threat of Russian forces fully capturing Kupiansk, even as they keep trying to entrench themselves in the city.
Reports from the Telegram channel "Pacany Donbas," which covers Donbas, describe the situation around Kupiansk as tense but say there is currently "no talk" of the city falling completely to Russian forces. The channel claims Russian troops continue trying nonstop to dig in inside Kupiansk, using heightened activity in different districts to stretch Ukrainian units and create more opportunities for advances on the eastern bank of the Oskil River.
At the same time, on the western bank, Ukrainian drone operators are said to be heavily attacking Russian positions in the Yuvileiny microdistrict. The report says repeated strikes target occupier strongpoints in the northern, central and southern quarters, complicating Russian attempts to fortify along the forward line and establish a stable foothold.
The post frames the clashes as part of a broader Russian effort to secure positions in Kupiansk while Ukrainian units attempt to disrupt those efforts with concentrated drone pressure from the opposite bank.
