Ukraine's State Customs Service has launched an online tool that lets anyone verify the customs clearance status of a mobile device by entering its IMEI number on the agency's website.
Ukraine's State Customs Service has introduced a new digital tool enabling consumers to instantly verify whether a mobile device has been properly cleared through customs by entering its IMEI number on the agency's website. The service, accessible at https://cabinet.customs.gov.ua/imeicheck, covers devices imported into Ukraine since September 4, 2026, when a new requirement took effect obliging importers to submit IMEI data during customs declaration.
The measure aims to curb the circulation of smuggled or unregistered phones and protect buyers from purchasing devices that may be blocked or subject to penalties. Officials say the database will be updated in real time as customs declarations are processed.
The platform is part of a broader digitalization drive by the Customs Service to increase transparency and simplify compliance for both businesses and individuals. Users need only input the 15-digit IMEI code, typically found on the device packaging or by dialing *#06#. The service is free and available around the clock.
