BMW Unveils Updated X3 for 2027 Model Year

BMW has revealed the updated X3 for the 2027 model year, presenting a mid-cycle styling refresh of its popular compact luxury crossover.

The most visible exterior change is a new radiator grille with horizontal bars rendered in M-style trim. BMW’s signature twin-kidney “nostrils” and recognizable front-light graphics carry over, while the rear gains arrow-shaped taillights. Those lights use double L-shaped elements that together form the letter X, turning the model’s name into a lighting motif.

For the Chinese market, the refreshed X3 will be offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing either 190 or 258 horsepower. Both output variants will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The update focuses on sharper exterior styling rather than a full platform redesign, and the disclosed specifications cover the Chinese-market configuration. The German automaker has not yet announced additional global engine choices, interior changes, release dates, or pricing for the refreshed X3.
